Job Summary: The Security Resource Assistant III serves as a shift supervisor for Security Resource Assistant I and II positions. Ensures the safety and security of the University community. Oversees daily operations by monitoring, receiving, processing, and responding to information related to physical security, access control, and safety concerns.
Additional Department Summary: Serves as a representative of the University of Alabama, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and exceptional customer service while ensuring campus safety and security. Serves as the primary supervisor for Security Resource Assistant I and II employees. Oversees daily operations, delegates tasks, monitors fieldwork, and approves reports. Evaluates performance, conducts reviews, and implements corrective actions as needed to maintain professional standards.
Requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts with a rotating weekly pattern. May drive UA vehicle as needed.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of safety, security, and/or law enforcement experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have a valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at the time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screening.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong judgment and decision making skills. Good interpersonal skills. High level of professionalism. Ability to perform a high quality of work. Technical knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience as a University of Alabama Security Resource Assistant II and a "meets expectations" or higher overall score on the most recent evaluation. Experience serving in a leadership capacity.
