Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.


Additional Department Summary: The Department of Mathematics at the University of Alabama seeks applications for a postdoctoral position. This position is renewable annually for up to two years and includes some teaching duties. Candidates are expected to carry out research in collaboration with members of members of the Applied Mathematics research group. Research of ideal candidates should have applications in material sciences or analysis of partial differential equations. Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Applications are encouraged from excellent candidates with research interests in mathematics. The minimum requirement at the time of the appointment is a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in a field of research in mathematics. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity. Review of applications will begin September 15, 2023.
