The Department of Political Science at the University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 15, 2025, who studies either (1) the politics of groups and identities in American politics, or (2) public policy and/or public administration through the lens of group differences. We invite applications from, among others, scholars of Black politics, Hispanic and Latino politics, and social movements, as well as those who study institutional inequalities grounded in group differences – for example, racial disparities in policy outcomes (e.g. health, education, environment, social welfare), the relationship between social groups and public administration/management (e.g., bureaucratic representation), or the way in which policy shapes class and economic (in)equality. We are open to all methodological approaches.
