Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; with additional hours as needed to support events and programs.
Job Summary: The University Programs Coordinator works with the student programming boards to coordinate, implement, market, and assess weekly events for University Programs and campus-wide events. Assists in the day-to-day advisement of a student programming board to include frequent interaction and collaboration with other student groups, campus departments, businesses, vendors, and community members. Provides oversight, plan, execute, and host events for University Programs during early morning, late night and weekend programming signature initiatives campus wide.
Additional Department Summary: Coordinates with vendors, on-campus partners, and other stakeholders to execute event needs. Participates in staff training, meetings, serve on committees, attend conferences and other programs promoting University Programs and Division of Student Life. Completes required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace. Responsible for holding staff accountable for completion of required training. Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing, enforcing, and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years experience in event planning, marketing, communications, working with or supervising student staff, advising student programming boards or organizations, or other related experience.
Must be able to work early mornings and frequent nights and weekends. Some travel may be required.
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Ability to work in a highly confidential, fast-paced environment with multiple shifting priorities. Demonstrated commitment to supporting all students.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in higher education, management, marketing, communication, public relations, hospitality management, organizational leadership or closely related field. Graduate or professional experience in student programming, communications, marketing, graphic design, or student development and higher education administration. Experience with photography and videography or working knowledge of website design and social media management. Experience working within a higher education (university or college) environment.
