Job Summary: Under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee, The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the Ph.D. or other doctoral degree.
Additional Department Summary: The successful candidate will join the UA CMS group that is involved in measurement of the Higgs boson properties, searches for dark matter and physics beyond the Standard Model, and Phase-II detector upgrades. Additionally, the University of Alabama is involved in direct dark matter detection, the intensity frontier and particle astrophysics experiments (IceCube, Exo-200, LZ, MiniBoone, MoEDAL and VERITAS experiments) as well as high-energy theory and phenomenology.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Applicants should have a PhD (or be near completion of a PhD) in High-Energy Physics or in a closely related discipline. Previous experience in high-energy physics analysis and machine learning will be considered an asset.
