Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm


Job Summary: The Information Systems Business Analyst acts as a liaison between functional and technical staff in support of specialized college or department information systems. Serves as a contact for reporting and data retrieval requests.


Additional Department Summary: The position will be the primary contact for users when troubleshooting system functionality. The position will ensure that the database contains only up to date student and employer information. The position will coordinate with the vendor to ensure that the Career Center is using all of system’s functionality. This position is responsible for the training of all users of Handshake. The position is responsible for developing training materials and instruction manuals for staff, students, and employers.
Additionally, this position is responsible for the first destination data collection process to include coordinating with the call center to ensure that contacts are being made, monitoring the online system to respond to call center notifications, checking for data accuracy, and following up on inconsistencies. This position will compile regular and ad hoc reports for government officials, system and university leadership, employers and career center staff. Reports must be clear and easily understandable to a variety of audiences. The position will complete required reporting for NACE, US News and World Report, departmental accrediting agencies, among others.
This position pulls weekly reports from career management software and first destination system to guide career center operations. This position analyzes survey data from career center visits, career events, and program evaluations and communicates results with career center staff to ensure that high quality services are being provided to students and employers.
Responsible for completing required training that is related to laws and regulations, that creates a more hospitable and respectful workplace; and safer work environment.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience; OR Master's degree and some experience.


Skills and Knowledge: Excellent Excel skills including use of pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to learn new software programs quickly.
Experience with extracting data and creating reports that are accurate and meaningful.
Strong mathematical aptitude and/or knowledge of statistical processes.
Ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects at once, work independently, and work collaboratively with professional colleagues.
Ability to exercise attention to detail with a high level of accuracy without losing site of the “big picture.”

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Operations Management, Library Information Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics or other related research or analytical fields of study with a minimum of 2 years of related research or analytical experience. Or, Master's degree with relevant student or academic project experience.
