Job Summary: The Coordinator of Engineering Student Recruitment will be responsible for developing, organizing, planning, and executing undergraduate student recruitment activities for the College of Engineering and will have the overall responsibility for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of accountability for the College recruiting plans. Student recruitment is a high priority for the College. The Coordinator will develop a comprehensive plan of action integrating current activities with new, innovative approaches to student recruitment. Constant monitoring of the plan to ensure that it meets the current market or student interest is essential. The incumbent will provide input to the College's recruitment goals, assess the effectiveness of current College-sponsored events and develop the marketing tools and promotional materials necessary to accomplish recruiting goals.


Additional Department Summary: The Student Recruitment Coordinator is vital to the overall image of the College of Engineering associated with donors, alumni, prospective and enrolled students, parents and guests of the College of Engineering. The coordinator will ensure that the College of Engineering Patterson Welcome Center is staffed to greet visitors Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:45pm. The coordinator will manage all aspects of on-campus recruiting activities for the College of Engineering including planning daily prospective student visits, coordinating visiting student itineraries/schedules with other campus entities (Admissions, Honors College, etc.), oversee external communications to perspective students and parents, and assist with event planning for major on-campus recruiting activities (E-Day, SITE, Family Weekend, visiting high schools, etc.). This position will work with the College of Engineering Coordinator of External Communications to ensure that all recruiting materials are current.

The coordinator supervises the Engineering Scholarship Specialist and serves as the Advisor for the Ambassadors of the College of Engineering (ACEs). This position will require travel including evenings and occasional weekends.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; OR a Master’s degree.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Excellent oral and written communication skills (including public speaking skills). Organizational skills for planning and coordinating schedules. Ability to work well with a diverse population and maintain professionalism. Ability to be flexible and be attentive to details,


Preferred Qualifications: Experience in leadership, supervising, recruiting, coordinating events on a College campus (or closely related experience), and/or developing social media strategies to support recruitment. Experience with Concur and Slate.
